Week 4 Devotional
I want that kind of life; don’t you? To be loved in whatever places our circumstances put us. To be loved in the pits
where family abandons us, to be loved in a foreign home even when our boss’s spouse accuses us, to be loved in a
prison where we interpret dreams for people who forget us. To be loved.
The Lord is with you and me when we are abandoned, estranged, and imprisoned. And he shows us faithful love.

PRAY ER
Dear God, today, as I face deadlines and yet want to serve you, my family, and my
responsibilities well, I thank you that you are with me. I thank you that no one can force
me into a place where you cannot love me. I thank you that as I receive your love and
presence with me, others see you, and your purposes succeed. Even in my versions of a pit,
Potiphar’s home, or prison, you are with me, I am loved, and I am empowered to do your
good. Amen.
