GOD’S STORY
1 Samuel 1:132:11
Then Hannah prayed: “My heart rejoices in the LORD! The
LORD has made me strong. Now I have an answer for my
enemies; I rejoice because you rescued me. No one is holy
like the LORD! There is no one besides you; there is no
Rock like our God.”

There’s a part of this narrative that I cannot yet understand4leaving my child, at age two or four, with a priest.
How could a preschooler be of any service yet, and wouldn’t he be better off at home (with me) until he was older?
How could I be sure my sacrifice of my son would not be in vain? After all, the priest had his own duties, his own
sons to look after. Would mine be cared for and become who God promised?
But there is a part of Hannah’s story that resonates. That, literally, resounds4her song. As the Every Woman’s
