elcome to your new beginning—and to The One Year Bible New Testament for New Beginnings by
DaySpring! When we say “new beginnings,” we mean two things: the big-picture new beginning
we experience when we trust in Christ and the personal new beginning that inspired you to pick up this
Bible.
Maybe your new beginning is starting with a new year, and you want to spend more time reading
the Bible—or even read it for the first time. Maybe it’s a new school, job, or career. Your new beginning
could be a new marriage, family, season, or ministry. Perhaps you’re living in a new community, or you’re
in some kind of recovery. Your new beginning might be happy and exciting, a choice you can’t wait to
explore! Or maybe your new beginning isn’t your choice at all. It could be difficult or scary. You may be
in the process of healing. Maybe you’re not sure how you feel at all.
This is where The One Year Bible New Testament for New Beginnings by DaySpring comes in. Through
daily Scripture reading and encouraging messages, you can better know God and more fully experience
his presence on your journey.

Alongside each day’s Scripture reading you’ll find a brief message—called an “Encouragement”—written with you in mind. These reflections are meant to be uplifting and inspiring. Every time you pick up
this Bible, we want to encourage you with a thought about new beginnings that connects with what
you’re reading in Scripture.
Some days you may find the Holy Spirit guides your thoughts and prayers in a different direction
from the Encouragement—that’s great! Whenever you come to Scripture, ask the Holy Spirit to show you
how that day’s reading might speak specifically to you and your life. Listen for what he says and follow
his lead.
Feel free to underline words or phrases that jump out at you. You can add dates, make notes, and
scribble in the margins. It’s always a good idea to have a notebook or journal nearby, just in case you need
more space to record your reflections.
You may also find you have questions about the meaning of specific verses or passages. Your New
